I am a Mexico-based researcher working on migration, security, street gangs, and drug policy in Mexico and Central America.

After obtaining a PhD in International Politics at Aberystwyth University I completed post-doctoral fellowships at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). Susequently, I worked at the Instituto para la Seguridad y la Democracia (INSYDE) where I was project coordinator and princpal investigator on the “Assessment Study of the National Migration Institute.”

Currently I am a researcher with the Drug Policy Programme at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) Región Centro in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
